How to make and drink delicious Sayama-tea using a tetra-tea bag.

We often hear people say,

”We just put a tea bag and boiling water into a cup and drink it. Right?”

Surely, we can have good enough tea that way.  It is true that simplicity is the merit of a tea bag, but if you follow the next direction, you will notice the amazing change in taste.

If you are too busy to spare that time, it is okay to just add hot water, but if possible, please cool your hot water just a while and brew your tea bag at a proper water temperature.

The appropriate water temperature is 80-85℃.  The key point is to cool hot water a little.

First, add hot water to a mug of about 250ml.

Boiling water is okay, but if you can prepare cooled hot water(80-85℃), you can have more delicious tea.

After adding boiling water into a mug, wait until the water becomes a little cool.

Put one tea bag into the cooled hot water

(80-85℃) in a mug, and wait for about 1 minute to infuse. Then swing the tea bag 3-4 times and take it out.

You can have fragrant, delicious tea beyond your expectations.

Following this way, you can enjoy delicious tea at least up to the third brew.

The key point is to use cooled hot water and to take a long time.

Tea is primarily surprisingly sweet.

Water temperature is the most important even when you make tea using a tea bag.

If you pour too hot water, you cannot draw out the primary taste of the tea.

The hotter the water temperature is, the more catechin and tannin are extracted, which make the tea astringent and bitter.  I often heard, ”I don’t like the astringency of tea.”  In many cases, such tea was made by pouring too hot water.

If you make tea, using a little cool hot water and taking a long brewing time, theanine is extracted, which gives the tea sweetness and umami.

The tea will be quite delicious and will have a relaxing effect.
